Photo exhibition on China’s historic transformation opened in Moscow

MOSCOW, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) — Xinhua, China’s state news agency, on Monday opened a photo exhibition in Moscow of Russia, showcasing China’s historical transformation in the past decades.
The exhibition, staged one day before the 75th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, features 269 unique photographs spanning various historical periods, selected from Xinhua’s collection of over 10 million images, the largest photo archive in the country.
During the opening ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui noted that while 75 years may seem like a brief moment in human history, it represents a period of tremendous change for the Chinese people and the Chinese nation.
“Modern-day China has reached unprecedented and colossal achievements. China is committed to innovative development, openness, and green development, and strives to accelerate the formation of new productive forces,” he said.
According to Galina Kulikova, first deputy chairperson of the Russia-China Friendship Association, and a recipient of China’s Friendship Medal, the exhibition fully illustrates Chinese-Russian cooperation in various fields.
“Today, bilateral cooperation is being promoted dramatically due to the actively strategic interaction between our countries”, she noted, adding that modern China has reached incredible heights in decades.
China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the country’s effort to build a community with a shared future for mankind demonstrate that China is not only focused on its own development, but is also directly contributing to the successful development of other countries and peoples, she added.
The photo exhibition, which will last for a month, is jointly organized by the Eurasia Bureau of Xinhua and Zhongchengtong International Investment Co., Ltd with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Russia. ■
